Phone and computer
Magpie never talks to a cloud of its own. Your iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox can carry the backup file — lock it with a password so those services only hold scrambled data. Magpie does not keep the password.
Print report
A paper catalog with photos, values, and notes. Opens a print layout you can save as PDF too.

Download the catalog as a spreadsheet. Photos are not in the file — they stay in Magpie.
CSV import
Adds pieces from a previous list. It does not replace what you already have, and it cannot import photos.
How to format a CSV
First row must be headers. name is the only required column.
name, serialNumber, category, acquiredFrom, acquiredAt, price, currentValue, possibleValue, insuredValue, policyNumber, status, statusAt, departedTo, salePrice, saleFees, netProceeds, departedWhy, storageLocation, condition, notes
- Dates as YYYY-MM-DD (2019-04-12). Month/day/year also works.
- Prices as numbers. $420 or 420 are both fine. Leave blank if unknown.
- Status is owned, sold, gifted, traded, lost, stolen, or destroyed. Default is owned.
- If a cell has a comma, wrap it in quotes: "Estate sale, Wauwatosa".
- Extra columns are ignored. Close-enough headers like Title, Paid, or Location are accepted.
- Import adds to the catalog. It does not delete existing pieces or attach photos.
